UNII (Unique Ingredient Identifier)

Producer: the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Global Substance
Registration System (GSRS); distributed via precisionFDA
(https://precision.fda.gov/uniisearch/archive).

Terms: no UNII-specific licence or terms-of-use document exists; the site
footer's "All Rights Reserved" is boilerplate, not a terms document. Use
of this copy rests on absence of restriction — as a work of the United
States Government it is not subject to US copyright (17 U.S.C. § 105) —
together with FDA's general open-data posture (openFDA's CC0 statement
governs a different service and is cited as an inference, not as a
grant), not on any affirmative grant.

Scope: the conversion takes 2 of the 25 published columns (UNII and
DISPLAY_NAME), deliberately dropping every third-party identifier column
(NCIT, RXCUI, INN_ID, Kew MPNS, …) and the WHO disclaimer attached to
INN_ID.

The sibling unii.json[.gz] is a converted extract produced by the coreJ
dictionary installer, not the authoritative FDA release. The
authoritative release is at the source recorded in SOURCES.md.
